We hope you have had a beautiful weekend! We have recently sat down with our founder and CEO Chloe to answer some of your most asked questions! We love giving you all insight into us and what we are about, so here are her answers xox
Why do you do what you do?
The one thing I have always been looking for and aspired to achieve is to create a career out of my passion. Since I can remember I have always chased a way to be truly happy with my life. For me this is wanting a successful career that revolves around my passions. Personally that is beauty and cosmetics, connecting with like minded powerful women, in a way that we can all boost each other and empower other women for the better. I knew that if this was something I channelled all of my energy to I would truly look forward to getting out of bed in the morning and putting 110% into something that can change my life as well as others.
How did you begin and what inspired you about tanning?
I began this journey whilst being in year 11. I had no idea what I wanted to do, I just knew that it wasn’t going to be working a 9-5 job as that isn’t what would make me happy. I have always aspired to owning a business, I just had no idea of what. I spent months thinking about my passions and what things really interested me. I definitely had some small self confidence/body related issues like many other young women and adults and thought about ways to feel more confident. I looked up to many “influencers” but I also felt my best when I felt confident in my own skin. For me personally this has always been when I have used skincare products like self tan, moisturisers and body oils. So I started to research how to incorporate this all together. From there came Sahara Soul, I launched the brand 2 years later.
What challenges have you faced and how did you overcome them?
When starting a business there are thousands of challenges, especially the ones you don’t expect like self doubt and not wanting to let people down! There are also business challenges like issues with manufacturers, orders not arriving on time, packaging errors etc. The best way I have overcome these things is to breathe! Know that there is no issue that cannot be fixed, to relax and to learn from every mistake. There is no challenge that you cannot overcome, so remember to enjoy the process and relax.
Why do you continue to do what you do? What drives you?
I continue to do what I do because I’ve set myself goals and I can see myself achieving them in the future. I have huge aspirations for myself and my business and thinking about myself and Sahara Soul achieving these goals continues to push me. I definitely have days where I lack motivation but just remembering that everyday is a fresh start and to keep going keeps me on the right track.
What was your highlight this week? Why did that mean so much to you?
My highlight this week was having a day that did not go to plan and everything felt like it was going wrong. There had been no orders and I felt stuck. I continued to put hours into working on Sahara Soul at night and went to sleep. I woke up in the morning to positive emails and plenty of new orders. It was a nice reminder that if you put the hard yards in you will be rewarded.
